New Empire - New toys.

So unless youve been sleeping under a rock. Or just dont bother much with GW these days then you'll probably know that this....

Hit the shelves today. Yes its the new 8th Ed Empire book. Now Ive had many many armies over the years but Empire are the only one I have ever kept hold too. Hell untill about  3 weeks ago they were my only fully painted army....ever! This is also the first army Ive had to get a new book released. I usualy jump on the band wagon then sell up as n when Im bored.



Anyhow, back on topic.  Tomorrow Im suuposed to be using my Tomb Kings to practise for AGoM next weekend. I'm pretty much resigned to the fact Im not going to do well. So I want to play with new toys.

Heres a 2K list Ive roughly sketched up. Its nothing great, or even competative. Its so i can try new toys out, and see how things work.

Lords
[265]Wizardlord - lvl 4, Shadow. Talis Presi, Dispell Scroll
10 pts cheeper then before. Want to see if the reason for the mortar nerf was the fact Empire are the only Army with access to  Shadow magic and template based Warmachines. 

Heroes
[69]Warrior Priest - Hvy Armr, Shld.
Cheep cheery and there for the new prayers and hatred. I'll slap him on the end of a unit and try to make sure he sticks about.

[110]Captain - BSB, AoMI
Expensive new AoMI. But I figured its worth it for the 1+ As and the 6+ Ward. The new Hold the line rule is beyond epic!

[270]40 Halbs - FC
[140]DET 20 Swordsmen
New detachment rules look realy nice. Hoping the Halbs do the damage and the SM strip any rank bonus. The Det gets the special rules from the parent unit too!

[100]10x Crossbows - Stnd
Wizard bunker. Im still a firm believer that BS based shooting sucks in 8th Ed. Fills min Core too.

Have a massive anvil. Hoping these guys can do the face wrecking. T3 will hold them back though.

Its a cannon FFS! I dont care its 20 pts more, its still worth it.

Yeah thats 3 x's. Not 2. It recieved a huge hit of the nerf bat. 25pts more and only Str 2. Still as stated above, Shadow magic and that should still hurt.

Old faithful.... shes 50pts cheeper and had a complete rewrite on the rules. Dont know about it yet. So will have to try it out.

[xxx]Celestial Hurricanum
New toy so bound to be good. Extra dispell dice are always handy too! Anyone else notice the mounted version is 5 points cheeper!? Its like GW saw a STank & CH combo at 1500pts and decided to nerf that.
